Bamboo Pulp Manufacturing Process

STEP 1: Raw Material Preparation: The harvested bamboo is cut to a relatively uniform length. Then the treated bamboo is cut into thin slices, the bamboo uses a machine to flatten, and finally is cut on a cutting machine.
STEP 2: Cooking: The bamboo is cooked under high temperatures and pressure, this makes the bamboo fibers soften and break down the lignin. Bamboo cooking system generally uses the sulfate method. This method has a high cooking rate. This bamboo has high pulp strength, less environmental pollution, good fiber softness, and a mature alkali recovery process. Bamboo sulfate cooking is easier than wood sulfate cooking because bamboo contains less lignin. So it is easier to remove, and the chemical structure of lignin makes bamboo easier to cook than wood.
STEP 3: Bleaching: After cooking, the bamboo slices still have some impure substances. So they remove these impurities by blenching. The bleaching process is usually treated with chemical methods, such as the addition of hydrogen peroxide or sodium hypochlorite.
STEP 4: Pulping: The bleached bamboo is mixed with the amount of water. The mixing equipment stirs it to separate the bamboo fiber from the water. It becomes bamboo pulp.
STEP 5: Screening: The bamboo pulp after bleaching has various lengths and qualities of fiber. ‌The long fibers and short fibers should be separated by screening. This step makes bamboo pulp ensure quality and purity ‌and removes the fiber that does not meet the requirements. ‌So it ensures the quality of the final product.
