01. Raw material preparation
A blast furnace slag is broken and screened by a magnetic separator and vibrating screen, getting the slag to meet standards.
02. Drying treatment
The slag is dried to remove water, ensuring the smooth progress of subsequent grinding.
03. Grinding process
After drying slag, adopting a ball mill or vertical roller mill to grind, obtain GGBS that meets the particle size requirement.
04. Classification and collection
Ground GGBS is classified by sorting machine. The finished product is collected by the bag dust collector, and transported to the silo.

The difference between ball mill and vertical roller mill
The slag grinding system has a ball mill and a vertical roller mill. Each piece of equipment has its advantages and disadvantages. The ball mill is a traditional grinding system, that has strong adaptability to materials, a large specific surface area, and better particle shape than a vertical roller mill. Its shape of particle is better than a vertical roller mill and has simple maintenance and cheap accessories. However the area is large, the power consumption is large, the material needs to be dried separately, and the process is complex. The vertical roller mill is simple. Drying, grinding, and powder selection are all completed in the mill. Its investment is small and low unit power consumption, and fast heat transfer, but more difficult to maintain than the ball mill.
