What Is Rotary Kiln cement plant

‌Rotary Kiln cement plant ‌refers to a plant that calcines cement clinker using a rotary kiln. The rotary kiln is the core equipment used in cement production. When the cement rotary kiln is working, the coal (natural gas) is burned in the rotary kiln to generate heat, and the raw material is heated by gas conduction. At the same time, as the kiln body keeps rotating according to the designed slope and speed, the raw material also periodically rolls forward in the kiln so that the raw material is transported from the feeding end to the discharging end to ensure that the raw material becomes a qualified clinker. The rotary kiln’s temperature and rotation ensure the clinker’s quality and uniformity. This provides the basics for the subsequent processing of cement.

STEP 1: Feed raw materials: Raw materials enter the rotary kiln from the feed port.
STEP 2: Rotate and heat: The kiln rotates slowly, leading the raw materials to move gradually down the kiln. At the bottom of the kiln, fuel is burned to make a lot of heat. The raw materials are heated to high temperatures, reaching around 1400–1500°C.
STEP 3: Create clinker: The material is dried, preheated, calcined, and cooled in the kiln to eventually become clinker.
STEP 4: Cool the clinker: The clinker is rapidly cooled from its high temperature to around 120°C. This prevents damage to the equipment and minimizes the temperature of the clinker when it enters the cement mill. The cooled clinker is discharged from the discharge port of the rotary kiln.
STEP 5: Store the clinker: The cooled clinker is stored in clinker silos.

Cement rotary kiln
