Hazardous waste incineration process
- STEP 1: Feedstock: According to hazardous waste different species and calorific values, the different hazardous waste is put into different storage. Then mix them together according to their moisture content, calorific value, and compatibility. Finally, it is sent to incineration to be burned.
- STEP 2:Incineration of waste: The hazardous waste goes through decomposition, drying, burning, and burn out using a rotary kiln (Horizontal cylinder furnace). More than 95% of the waste has been turned into slag. The slag along with the unburned waste enters the rotary kiln to burn. Finally, all of the slag enters the slagging system. In addition, the high-temperature flue gas produced by the combustion in the rotary kiln and grate enters the secondary combustion chamber. The labor ensures that the flue gas temperature generated by incineration is between 850 ° C and 1200 ° C. Because the gas has lots of volatile substances, these substances are usually poisonous. To ensure these substances are completely oxidized and decomposed, O2 is sent into the secondary combustion chamber to ensure the oxidation and decomposition of toxic and harmful substances in the flue gas. Incineration produces the temperature gas that could be used, the gas enters the waste heat boiler. The heat is absorbed by the boiler to produce steam. The stream could be used to generate electricity or to supply other heat users.
- STEP 3: Exhaust gas cleaner: The high-temperature gas can make dioxin decompose, but after the high-temperature gas through heat exchange, the gas temperature is reduced to five or six hundred degrees, and dioxins will be synthesized again. To avoid dioxins synthesis, it needs the quench device to reduce the temperature to less than 200° C. In addition, the gas contains a lot of harmful impurities such as dust, acid gas, and heavy metals. The acid gases such as nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides, and hydrogen chloride are removed by semi-dry lye spray and kilo-alkali neutralizer, finally, the dust is removed by the cloth bag dust collector. The activated coke is purified and discharged to the standard.
- STEP 4: Incineration ash disposal: After the hazardous waste is incinerated, the inorganic matter and unburned organic matter are collected from the grate, waste heat boiler, and dust collector. This ash includes the hazardous substance. If it is not dealt with, it could pollute the soil and groundwater. All polluting components in hazardous waste are chemically inert by stable curing to reduce the toxicity of waste.
