Quick Lime Plant

The main component of the quick lime is calcium oxide (CaO), which is prepared by calcining natural rocks whose main component is calcium carbonate at high temperatures. Quick Lime Manufacturing Process

STEP1: Pretreatment

Crushing: Limestone is used for jaw crusher, impact crusher and hammer crusher to crush a particle size suitable for calcination.
Washing: Limestone is washed to remove dirt from the limestone surface. It is to ensure quality of product. It is used for a rotary stone washing machine to wash by a counter-current manner. Clean water is introduced from the discharge end, ‌dirty water is discharged from the feed end.‌
Screening: Screening chose a suitable particle size of limestone to ensure the quality of the calcination. Screening usually uses a vibrating screen.

STEP2: Calcination

Pretreatment limestone particles are placed in a lime kiln for heating and calcining. Calcination is a key step to producing quick lime. The calcium carbonate in the limestone is composed by heating. The carbon dioxide is released, and quick lime is obtained.

STEP3: Cooling

The calcinated material is sent to the cooler by conveying equipment and then cool air is blown in for cooling. This makes use of heat exchange between cold air and hot lime, reduces lime temperature, and achieves safe storage and use standards.

STEP4: Storage and packing

Calcinated limestone particles become quick lime. Quick lime is usually packed in a bag or bulk. In the packing process, the quick lime is packed in bags and adds desiccant. Then seal the bag to ensure a product of quality. Quick lime needs put in a dry and ventilated place, and avoid moisture.
