step 1: raw material selection
Choosing fresh, mature, and undamaged coconuts as the raw materials to ensure the oil yield.
step 2: dehusking
Coconut is removed from the outer shell by a specialized shelling machine, then the coconut is split by the shell breaker, and the coconut flesh is extracted from the shell.
step 3: cleaning
Using a cleaning sieve, clean the coconut to remove impurities, dirt, and residues.
step 4: crushing
Crush the coconut meat into small pieces for easier drying and oil extraction.
step 5: drying
The coconut meat is dried using a tray dryer to produce coconut flakes. Coconut flakes are the key material for extracting oil. Dry stadge is important for the oil extraction process. Because it can reduce the water content of coconut ( 7% – 10%) and ensure higher oil yield and longer shelf life.
step 6: oil extraction
Coconut flaker has a significant difference from common oilseed. So it is more suitable for a screw press. And the gap between the pressing rods needs to be adjusted to be very small.
step 7: refining(optional)
After the pressing process, the oil still has impurities. These impurities need to be removed. This needs degumming, deacidification, bleaching, and deodorization.
step 6: packing
The finished coconut oil is filled into containers such as bottles and then sold.
