Feed ingredients for feed pellet plant
The raw material can be used to make animal feed pellets by feeding pellet mills that have corn, legumes, straw, grasses, and other raw materials.
- Corn: such as corn, wheat, barley, etc. These grain raw materials are the main components of the production of feed, providing energy and nutrition.
- Legumes: such as soybean meal, rapeseed meal, peanut meal, etc. These by-products are rich in protein and help to improve the nutritional value of feed.
- Straw: such as corn straw, wheat straw, etc. These raw materials can be used as roughage to increase the fiber content of feed.
- Grasses: such as grass powder, often used to provide cellulose and trace elements.
- Other plant ingredients: such as rice bran, leaves, etc. These ingredients can provide additional nutrients.
The process of feed pellet plant
- Step 1: Raw material ratio: according to design, the raw material is mixed by ratio.
- Step 2: Crushing: the raw material is crushed and reduces pellet particles, increases specific surface area, and improves digestibility and utilization. Generally, the crushing fineness of cereals, beans, and oil meals should reach about 0.1 mm. The crushing fineness of crop stalks and shells should be below 0.1 mm.
- Step 3: Mixing: the crushed material is mixed and forms a uniform mixture.
- Step 4: Pelletizing: the mixed material is compressed into a pellet shape. The pelletizing process needs condition and extrude to ensure water resistance and appropriate physical properties. The feed pellet plants manufactured cover a wide range of target production from 60-1000kg/h.
- Step 5: Cooling: After pelletizing, the feed material needs to cool and screen, to ensure the quality of the final product. The outlet pellets can reach a temperature of 2-5℃ higher than room temperature.
- Step6: Packing: The cooled and screened feed particles are packed and ready for delivery.

The equipment of feed pellet plant
Hammer mill
.Hammer mill crusher is suitable for crushing raw materials with sizes less than 30~50mm, such as cotton stalks, corn stalks, wheat straw, etc. It is used for large particles crushed into small particles to improve the digestibility and absorptivity of feed. After the crushing process, the output size of the material can reach 3-5mm.
Mixer
Mixers could be divided into two types: horizontal feed mixers and vertical feedmixersr. The feed mixer is to ensure animals can obtain the necessary nutrients in every meal. The feed mixer ensures ingredients of feed are uniformly distributed to prevent animals from just eating part of the feed. The mixing cycle is generally 3 to 6 minutes.
Pellet mill
The pellet mill is divided into two types: flat die feed pellet mill and ring die feed pellet mill. The pellet mill is a kind of equipment used to crush raw material into pellet feed. The feed pellet machine can be adjusted into different sizes through different models of die diameters. The feed pellet machine’s capacity is 60-1000 kg/h.
Storage silo
The storage silo is an important piece of equipment used for storing feed pellets. It usually uses a vertical cylinder design, has higher storage capacity, and good sealing to ensure the freshness and the quality of feed.
Packing machine
The pellet packing machine is an automatic equipment, that could automatically complete all working particles such as measuring, bag-making, filling, and sealing the animal feed pellet.
Cooler
After pelleting, the feed pellet has a temperature of 70-85℃. So the feed pellet needs to cool down near room temperature to meet storage requirements by using a cooler. This feed pellet cooler occupies small areas.

It is mainly used for processing turkey feed, duck feeds, goose feeds, quail feeds and bird feeds. The particle size is generally 1-6mm.
