Solid Waste pyrolysis& incineration

Solid waste refers to the solid and semi-solid waste substances that are produced by the production of human construction, daily life, and other activities and can not be used at a certain time and place and are discarded to pollute the environment.

The advantage of solid waste disposal

  • Harmless reaction process: Incineration refers to the process of thermal chemical reaction of waste with a certain calorific value energy under aerobic conditions. Incineration is a process of releasing heat. Whether the rubbish could be incinerated mainly depends on whether its heat can dry itself and sustain a certain incineration temperature. Solid waste passes through incineration of general volume is  80%-90%. Incineration could achieve garbage harmless, resource and reduction way. Pyrolysis refers to combustible solid waste decomposing at high temperatures, finally becoming combustible gas, fuel oil, and carbon black. Pyrolysis is an endothermic process. The solid waste contained heat becomes a valuable fuel for storage and transportation.
  • Various Final product: The incineration generates a lot of waste gas and slag. This gas could be used for heating and power generation.  Pyrolysis generates combustible gas, fuel oil, and carbon black. It can be recycled in many ways. Its energy is well recycled and environmental pollution is small.
  • Multiple Application: Pyrolysis is widely used for producing charcoal, coal distillation, petroleum reforming, and carbon black manufacturing.

The process of solid waste

Pyrolysis process

pyrolysis process

  • STEP 1: Preparation: The solid waste is classified and prepared to ensure the efficiency and safety of pyrolysis.‌
  • STEP 2: Heating: The prepared solid waste is put in a completely sealed furnace, and the temperature is from 450 ℃ to 750℃. Under high temperatures and lack of oxygen, ‌the organic matter in the waste will decompose into a solid substance and gas in two parts.
  • STEP 3: Separating: After cooling and cleaning, the various metals in a solid substance will be separated. The resulting coke can also be separated. The gas becomes fuel oil and the remaining gas is used to heat the furnace walls.

Incineration process

incineration process

  • STEP 1: Preparation: The waste is crushed and sorted and other pretreatment works to improve incineration efficiency.
  • STEP 2: Incineration: The prepared rubbish is sent to an incinerator where it is burned at high temperatures. In the incineration process, the organic matter in the waste is converted into heat, and the inorganic matter forms the residue.
  • STEP 3: Energy recovery: In the incineration process, it generates energy for recovery. It could heating and power generation.
  • STEP 4: Residue disposal: The residue after incineration needs to be treated, usually by landfill or reuse.
  • STEP 5: Waste gas treatment: The incineration will generate a lot of the waste gas. It needs to be treated by specialized waste gas treatment equipment to meet emission standards.
  • STEP 6: Wastewater treatment: The incineration will generate wastewater, it needs to be treated by wastewater equipment to meet emission standards.
